WESTERVILLE, OH - The track and field team had a great showing at the Otterbein Twilight Invite on Friday evening, racing under the lights to nine PBs and one school record.
Freshman
Abigail Kobs set the school record in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 12:50.82. The time puts her at fifth in the RSC in the event.
Paige Parker and
Impreza Rogers broke big barriers in the 5,000m run. Parker broke 19 minutes for the first time, running by herself to a time of 18:59.17 and placing 21st out of 57 athletes. She is ranked sixth in the conference in the event.
Rogers came up with a 1:34-second PB to break 20 minutes with a time of 19:50.28.Â
Evan Caldwell shaved some time off of his 800m run, racing to a second-place finish out of 66 athletes with a time of 1:58.26.
Payton Herron continued his successful season with a 13-second PB in the mile of 4:33.46. He placed 13th out 47 athletes.
Chris Corsaro came up with two PBs in one night. He finished the 200m dash with a time of 24.45 and the 400m dash with a time of 56.15.
Garrett Carver and
Jason Springer both had PBs in the 5,000m run. Carver had a big-time 54-second PB of 16:52.95 while Springer shaved seven seconds off his time for a 16:18.94 finish.
Jaden Smith threw a shotput PB of 10.99m.Â
The Trailblazers race in their final River States Conference Championships this week in Pittsburgh, PA on Thursday, April 25th and Friday, April 26th.Â
