VERSAILLES, KY - The men's and women's cross country teams both placed 7th out of 11 teams at the River States Conference Championships on Saturday morning to finish out the 2023 season.
The Trailblazers had five PBs on the day on a hilly course and in a tough field.
Impreza Rogers and
Lexie Engstrom received second team All-Conference honors while
Paige Parker was third team All-Conference.
Jason Springer and
Paige Parker were awarded the Champions of Character award.
For the men,
Corry Mientkiewicz led the way with a time of 26:48, tying his third-best personal time and placing 26th out of 114 runners.
Bryden Moxley had a one-second PB of 27:51 to finish second for the Trailblazers and 45th place overall.
Jason Springer came up with a 13-second PB of 27:56, placing 47th.
Payton Herron and
Garrett Carver came in 60th and 61st place, respectively, both crossing the line with a time of 28:49.
The women's team stayed packed up, with the top three finishing in 13th, 14th and 15th place.
Impreza Rogers came in first for the Trailblazers with a one-minute PB of 25:12,
Lexie Engstrom followed with a time of 25:15 and
Paige Parker came in as the first member of third team All-Conference in 15th place with a 13-second PB of 25:16.
Abigail Kobs had a 1:22 PB of 27:49 while Atlantis Dalrymple rounded out the scoring in her first race with a time of 33:52.
