GRAND RAPIDS, MI - There was a lot to be excited about for the Trailblazers at the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge this weekend. The men's side placed sixth out of 23 teams in the 8k while three of the four women came up with a PB in their 5k.
Corry Mientkiewicz placed 11th out of 195 to lead the way for the men with a time of 27:05.
Payton Herron wasn't far behind with a time of 27:16, placing 19th.
Bryden Moxley came in 60th with a time of 28:25.
Jason Springer ran a time of 28:27 in his first official meet of the season, placing 65th.
Garrett Carver had a 49-second PB, his second straight PB, with a time of 28:32 to round out the scoring for the Trailblazers.
Lexie Engstrom was the first finisher on the women's side with a time of 20:30, placing 23rd out of 185 runners.
Impreza Rogers was right behind her with a time of 20:32 - a 34-second PB for the freshman -Â placing 26th. She had a 31-second PB just one week ago, cutting 1:05 off of her fastest time over the past two races. The time is the 7th-fastest in OCU history.
Freshman
Paige Parker placed 31st with a 12-second PBÂ of 20:36, moving her from 10th to 8th all-time for Ohio Christian.
Abigail Kobs had a two minute collegiate PB of 21:24.
The Trailblazers will look to carry this momentum into the River States Conference Championships on Saturday, November 4th.Â
