Louisville, KY -- The Trailblazer cross country teams took part in the Live in Lou Classic hosted by the University of Louisville, October 5, 2024. Ohio Christian joined 23 other schools in an 8-kilometer race for the men and a 5-kilometer race for the women. There were 205 women's finishes and 189 men's finishers.
The Lady Blazers placed 11th out of 24 schools. In the final standings the ladies finished ahead of division one Tennessee State. The women's team was led by So.
Paige Parker who ran a personal best of 20:29, which placed her 30th. Sr.
Lexie Engstrom ran a 20:45, which earned her 42nd place. So. Impreza Rodgers was next across the finish line in a time of 20:48, that placed her in 46th place. So.
Abigail Kobs had an aggressive start leading the Lady Blazers through two miles before being overtaken by some of her teammates. Kobs ran a 21:10, finishing in 55th. Sr.
Jenna Ayer rounded out the squad's scoring by placing 165th, in 24:53.
The men's team did not have a team score having just four runners compete. Sr.
Corry Mientkiewicz led the men's team, placing 29th in 27:13. Sr.
Jason Springer finished 49th with a time of 27:58. This was two seconds off Springers' personal best. Fr.
Jonah Kiess came across the finish line in 95th place in 29:21. Fr.
Baily Chabot Finished 139th in a time of 30:42.
The Trailblazer cross country teams head to Wilmington College on October 18th for the Jenna Strong Fall Classic.
