Fairborn, OH -- The Trailblazer cross country teams took part in the Wild Bill Invite hosted by the Wright State University, October 25, 2024. Ohio Christian joined eight schools in an 8-kilometer race for the men and a 6-kilometer race for the women. There were 56 men's finishers and 42 women's finishers.
The Lady Blazers placed second out of nine teams, just two points behind Wright State. The women's team was led by So.
Paige Parker who ran a personal best of 23:28, which placed her 9th. She blazed through the 5-k in approximately 19:30 which was an unofficial personal best as well. This would have moved her to fourth all-time in program history if it were official.
So. Impreza Rodgers was next across the finish line in a personal best time of 24:25, that placed her in 12th. Sr.
Lexie Engstrom ran a 24:34, which earned her 13th place. So.
Abigail Kobs ran a personal best of 24:50, finishing in 16th. Sr.
Jenna Ayer rounded out the squad's scoring by placing 34th, in 28:19. Graduate Student
Darcy Mitchell also ran a personal best time of 29:43, which placed her 38th. Mitchell had a strong last half mile to make a pass and crush the 30-minute barrier.
The men's team did not have a team score having just four runners compete. Sr.
Corry Mientkiewicz led the men's team, placing 8th in 26:06. This was a personal best, and it moved Mientkiewicz into second place all-time in the program's history. Sr.
Jason Springer finished 22nd with a time of 27:22. This was a personal best, and it moved Springer into eighth place all-time in the program's history. Fr.
Jonah Kiess came across the finish line in 35th place in 28:05. Fr.
Baily Chabot finished 42nd in a time of 29:06. This was a personal best performance for Chabot.
The Trailblazer cross country teams head to Warsaw, IN on November 15th for the NCCAA National Championship meet.
