Grand Rapids, MI - The women's soccer team battled throughout ninety minutes on Saturday, and a late goal from Grace Christian caused the Trailblazers to fall just short of a tie.
The Trailblazers controlled the offense throughout the game, finishing with a 16-4 advantage over the Tigers in shots and putting 10 attempts on frame. OCU also had a 6-2 lead in corner kicks.
Ohio Christian came out in the opening half with multiple scoring opportunities. Senior
Kayla Allen recorded three shots in the first half, including two that were saved by Grace Christian. Bryca McClain also finished the first half with two shots, while
Adisyn Fuller and
Kylah Kemp each added an attempt.
Despite controlling possession and generating numerous opportunities, OCU was unable to find the back of the net. With less than three minutes left in the game, Grace Christian scored the one goal of the match, giving the Tigers the 1-0 lead.
The Blazers will play Cleary University on Wednesday for their home opener at 4:00 PM.
