Circleville, OH - Ohio Christian University Volleyball began the home stretch of the season Wednesday evening, earning a 3-1 victory over Wright State-Lake University.
The Trailblazers controlled the first two sets, taking the first 25-12 before winning the second set 25-17. The Lakers answered in the third, 25-16, but OCU came back in the fourth set to close out the match with a 25-23 victory.
Kennedy Bowling led the way offensively with 13 kills, while
Lydia Watson and
Kynedi Davis each had eight. Bowling also finished with four block assists.
The Trailblazers' blocking presence was one of the key notes of the match. OCU recorded 22 total blocks, including two solo blocks and 20 block assists, while holding the Lakers to just one team block. Watson and Davis led the way with six block assists a piece, while Watson had two solo blocks for a team-high six total blocks.
Emma Hannah recorded 20 assists, while
Kennedy Groff added 11 and
Sophie Coleman contributed 6 to the night. Coleman also led the Trailblazers defensively with 18 digs, followed by Groff with 16 and
Hannah Skaggs with nine.
The Trailblazers are off the rest of the week and will travel to Great Lakes Christian College on September 4 for a 6:00 pm match.
