Columbus, IN - Ohio Christian University women's soccer opened the 2026 season on Saturday, falling 3-0 to IU Columbus.
The Trailblazers, featuring a young roster with a lot of new faces, faced a lot of pressure as IU Columbus recorded 19 shots in the opening half. OCU goalkeeper
Daisy Dunham kept the Trailblazers within striking distance, making eight saves before halftime.
OCU entered halftime trailing by one before IU Columbus added to its early lead in the second half. Finally, the Crimson Pride added its final goal in the 86th minute, pushing the lead to 3-0.
Dunham finished the game with 14 saves, making several stops throughout the contest. The Trailblazers were held without a shot. Despite the result, the season opener provided valuable experience for a young Trailblazer squad as the team continues to build and grow together early in the season.
Ohio Christian will return to action next Saturday, August 29, when they travel to Grand Rapids to take on Grace Christian University at 2:00 PM.
