OAKLAND CITY, IN - The softball team hit the road this weekend for back-to-back conference doubleheaders at Oakland City University and Brescia University. The Trailblazers came away from the weekend with two close losses to Oakland City (2-3, 3-4) and a split with Brescia (1-4, 9-4), as they move to 9-19 overall and 7-11 in conference play.
Hilarie Spitler had a huge game at the plate in the first game at Oakland City, going 3-3 with a home run and a double.Â
The Mighty Oaks made a late comeback in game two to get their second win of the day 4-3. Freshman
Gracie Riddick got her first collegiate hit in her lone at bat, with an RBI and a run.
At Brescia, the Trailblazers got off to a slow start but came back big in the second game with a come from behind 9-4 win.
Roxi Herdman was 2-2 at the plate for the second time on the weekend with two runs and two RBIs.Â
Chandler Hayes was 3-5 at the plate with two RBIs and one run. Hayes was 7-16 on the weekend.
Karlee Steele was 2-3 at the plate with one RBI in the win.Â
The Trailblazers are back home next weekend for conference doubleheaders with Alice Lloyd College and Shawnee State University on Friday, April 12th and Saturday, April 13th.Â
