SOFTBALL SPLITS WITH SHAWNEE STATE; GETS SHUTOUT WIN IN GAME ONE

CIRCLEVILLE, OH - The softball team came up with one win over Shawnee State this weekend in a 1-1 split at home by scores of 8-0 and 2-6. This was the Trailblazers' first win over the Bears - who sit at the top of the RSC East - this season. 

The Trailblazers opened the day with an 8-0 shutout win. It was just the third time this season the Bears have been held scoreless. 

Kylee Bako led the Trailblazer offense, batting .571 on the weekend with a 4-7 plate performance. She tacked on one run, one 2B and two RBIs. 

Hilarie Spitler pitched the full shutout win and six innings of game two. In game one she allowed just three hits and struck out five. She struck out another five in game two. Spitler showed up at the plate as well, going 2-4 in game one with two RBIs and one run. 

Roxi Herdman was 2-3 in the first game with two runs. Lexi King was 2-3 at the plate with one RBI.

The Trailblazers have a busy week ahead, with eight conference games on the schedule. They begin tomorrow, April 15th with a home doubleheader against Alice Lloyd College at 1 and 3 p.m.
