CIRCLEVILLE, OH - The softball team snagged a big win over St. Mary-of-the-Woods College on Tuesday afternoon and split on the day by scores of 0-3 and 3-1. The Trailblazers move to 13-21 overall and 11-13 in conference play where they are now third in the East after the win over the Pomeroys who sit at second in the West.
The Trailblazer defense showed up, holding the Pomeroys to just four runs on the day.
Emma Hastings had another great series, scoring on a triple to extend the lead to 3-1 in game two. She was 2-3 and tacked on a double. Hastings pitched the win as well, allowing just one earned run and striking out four.Â
Hilarie Spitler was 2-4 in game two with a double and an RBI. Chandler Hayes and Karlee Steele got the other two runs for the Trailblazers while Lexi King had the other RBI.
The Trailblazers hit the road next weekend to take on the University of Rio Grande and West Virginia Tech beginning with the Red Storm on Friday, April 19th.Â
