RIO GRANDE, OH - The baseball team took two wins in a three-game series against the University of Rio Grande this weekend, falling just short of the series sweep in the final game 8-5. The two wins (3-1, 4-2) are two of only four against the Red Storm in school history. The Trailblazers are now 10-20 overall and 7-8 in conference play.
Tyler House pitched seven innings of the first win, allowing just one earned run and two hits in 24 at bats and striking out five.
John Santopadre was credited with the second win for the Trailblazers while
Ridge Clark had the save.
Spencer Crane was 4-9 at the plate on the weekend with one double, one home run (his third of the season), two runs and two RBIs.
Benjamin Sterritt came up with a two-run home run in the final game of the series to get the Trailblazers within four.
The Trailblazers are gaining momentum as the season progresses and will look to carry it into another busy week as they head to the University of Cincinnati-Clermont on Tuesday, April 2nd followed by a home series against conference leaders Point Park University next weekend.
