CIRCLEVILLE, OH - The University of Rio Grande spoiled Ohio Christian's home opener on Thursday afternoon. The Red Storm took the doubleheader by scores of 6-0 and 3-0. The second game was cut short after five innings due to bad weather.
The Trailblazers struggled to connect in the first game, only getting one hit off. Rio was swinging well and had four doubles and a home run to secure the win.
The Ohio Christian offense was gaining momentum right as the second game was called and ran out of time to come back from the 3-0 deficit. Rio had a two-run home run in the second inning that the Trailblazers didn't have an answer for.
The Trailblazers are back in action this Saturday with another home doubleheader against conference opponent West Virginia Tech. The games will be played at 1 and 3 p.m.
