CIRCLEVILLE, OH - The softball team continued their weekend homestand with a doubleheader against West Virginia Tech, going 1-1 with an 8-0 win and 2-3 loss. The Trailblazers are now 3-11 overall and 1-5 in conference play.
Ohio Christian mercied the Golden Bears in game one, going up 8-0 by the bottom of the third inning.
Freshman
Chandler Hayes was dominant at the plate, going 3-3 with a double and three runs.Â
Kylee Bako had three RBIs while
Kristin Gardner had two RBIs and two runs.Â
Hilarie Spitler pitched the shut out, allowing just three hits in 18 at-bats with six strikeouts.
Game two was a battle and the Trailblazers couldn't finish the job, falling 3-2.Â
Hayes continued to have herself a day, going 2-3 at the plate with one run. Bako and
Lexi King batted in a run a piece while
Emma Hastings ran the second run in for the Trailblazers.
The Trailblazers head to Alice Lloyd College this Tuesday, March 19th for a conference doubleheader at 1 and 3 p.m.
