SYLVANIA, OH - The Trailblazers opened the 2024 season with a doubleheader at Lourdes University, falling 14-6 and 7-3.Ā
Early February brought some unseasonably high temperatures, taking the battle outside after planning on playing in a dome.Ā
The Trailblazers cruised to an early 4-1 lead before the Grey Wolves brought batters in in the last four innings, finishing it out with a seven-run sixth inning to take game one 14-6.Ā
Hilarie Spitler had a solid performance at the plate, going 2-3 with two runs.
Vanessa Metcalf was 2-3 at the plate with one RBI.
Karlee Steele drove in two runners and
Chandler Hayes had two runs and a double.Ā
The second game went to the Grey Wolves 7-3. Lourdes took an early 3-0 lead that the Trailblazers could not come back from.
Lexi King drove in all three runs, going 3-4 from the plate.
Kylee Bako and Steele had doubles and one run each while Metcalf came up with the third run.
The Trailblazers head to Florida on February 29th and return March 3rd for their next several games.
