PITTSBURGH, PA - The women's basketball team suffered a second-straight loss on Tuesday, falling to Point Park University 97-79. The two teams are very evenly matched in records and the Trailblazers took the earlier meeting 88-72 at home. The Trailblazers are currently sitting at fifth overall in the River States Conference with a record of 10-6.
The Trailblazers took a 21-17 lead by the end of the first quarter, and were up by as much as 10 points early, but were unable to regain the lead once the Pioneers took it over.Â
Haley Cox came up with her 10th 30+ point game this season with 31 points on 8-21 shooting, six rebounds, three assists and two steals.Â
Emma Koons got into early foul trouble, but still came up with a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds along with two assists in 28 minutes of play.
Ashley Deweese had the last double-digit performance for Ohio Christian with 11 points and eight rebounds.
JoLeigh Hamilton flirted with a double-double with eight points and nine rebounds.Â
Ohio Christian will get a bye in the River States Conference Championships and will open the tournament on Wednesday, February 28th.Â
The Trailblazers round out the regular season this Saturday, February 24th when they host Alice Lloyd College for Senior Day at 1 p.m. The team's three seniors will be honored before tip-off.
