PORTSMOUTH, OH - The women's basketball team struggled on Saturday in a big conference matchup against Shawnee State University, falling 75-54 to the Bears. The Trailblazers are now 19-6 overall and 10-4 in conference, where they currently sit at fourth overall as the tournament looms in just over a week.
The Trailblazers' shot was off against the Bears, as they were only able to hit one triple and shot 34 percent from the field. The Bears also took advantage of the Trailblazers' 19 turnovers, scoring 18 points from turnovers.
Haley Cox led the Trailblazers with a double-double of 22 points and 10 rebounds, going 12-16 from the line. She also tacked on three steals and two assists.
Ashley Deweese came up with 19 points on 7-13 shooting.
The Trailblazers will look to bounce back on Tuesday when they head to Point Park University for the last road game of the regular season at 5:30 p.m.
