SAINT MARY-OF-THE-WOODS, IN - The women's basketball team came up with another high-quality performance to get their first conference win over St. Mary-of-the-Woods College Wednesday night, 77-72. The Trailblazers are now 9-4 overall and 1-2 in conference play.
Haley Cox, who was named the River States Conference player of the week on Tuesday, nearly got her third straight double-double with an incredible 35 points and nine rebounds. This is Cox's fifth 35 point game of the season and brings her points per game average up to 28.1. She shot 12-19 from the field, 5-10 from deep and 6-8 from the line.
Emma Koons had a well-rounded performance of 20 points, nine boards and five assists.
Ashley DeWeese had 10 points, six rebounds and an impressive seven assists. As a team, the Trailblazer offense shot 46.2 percent from the field.
The Pomeroys tied things up at 72 with less than one minute remaining in the game. Cox drained four free throws to secure the win for the Trailblazers while
Darcy Mitchell contributed the final point of the game.
Ohio Christian is back home this Saturday when they host Indiana University Kokomo at 1 p.m.
