CIRCLEVILLE, OH – The women's basketball team got a historic 96-63 win over the University of Cincinnati-Clermont Saturday afternoon as
Haley Cox came up with Ohio Christian's fourth triple-double and the first with steals on 31 points, 12 rebounds and 10 steals. She is only the second women's basketball player at OCU to record one. The Trailblazers move to 15-5 overall with the nonconference win.
Cox led the scoring for the Trailblazers in her 34 minutes of play. She shot 7-18 from the field and 15-18 from the free throw line.
Emma Koons came up with 24 points and five rebounds in just 22 minutes. She shot an impressive 10-16 and 4-9 from deep.
Ashley Deweese was the third starter in double digits with 12 points and five steals.
The Trailblazers got off to a 25-14 start in the first quarter led by Deweese with 10 points and Cox with seven.
Koons, Deweese and Cox all hit double digits by halfway through the second half. Koons dropped back-to-back triples to extend the lead to 19 and take her total to 14.
Koons finished the half with 16 points, Cox had 13 points with nine rebounds and five steals and Deweese had 12 points.
Cox hit her triple-double in the fourth quarter with her tenth steal with three minutes to play.
The Trailblazers are back to conference play on Tuesday, January 30
th at 5:30 p.m. when they host Point Park in a battle for second place in the RSC East.
