RICHMOND, IN - It was another well-rounded team performance for the women's basketball team as they came up with their second straight over-25-point win, this time by a 95-66 scoreline over Indiana University East. The Trailblazers were incredibly consistent in the 40 minutes, putting up 24 points in the first three quarters and 23 in the fourth. They move to 14-5 overall and 6-3 in conference, where they sit at third in the East, with the win.
The Trailblazers dominated the boards 53-38, led by
Haley Cox with a career-high 18 rebounds. They shot 44.6% from the field and 44.8% from deep.Â
Emma Koons,
Haley Cox and
Ashley Deweese - who take up three of the top ten highest scoring spots in the RSC - led the Trailblazers with 24, 23 and 22 points, respectively. All three were in double-digits by halftime.
Koons added seven rebounds, three assists and two steals. She sits at fifth in the RSC for scoring.
Cox continues to lead the conference in scoring, shooting 8-14 from the field in the win. She hit her fifth double-double of the season by the third quarter. With her 23 points, Cox exceeded a season total of 500.
Deweese comes in at ninth in the RSC, and she added seven rebounds and four assists.Â
LIly Shepherd also hit double digits with 11 points in 20 minutes of play.
The Trailblazers take a break from conference play and host the University of Cincinnati-Clermont this Satruday, January 27th at 1 p.m.
