CIRCLEVILLE, OH – The women's basketball team came up with a huge 76-49 win over Brescia University for their fifth conference win and 13
th overall win of the season.
Four of the five starters were in double digits as
Ashley Deweese and
Emma Koons came up with 18 points each, both with seven triples.
Darcy Mitchell came up with her season-high 13 points, along with eight rebounds and three assists.
JoLeigh Hamilton put up seven points and nine rebounds.
The Trailblazers opened with a well-rounded 16-4 run and were up 25-11 at the end of the first quarter. They shot 61.1% from the field in the first ten minutes. They finished out the half up 43-27 and all five starters came up with six points or more in the first half.
Koons and Deweese came up with ten points each in the first half.
Mitchell had a great first half coming up with eight points and four rebounds and Hamilton had six points and six rebounds.
Mitchell opened the second half scoring with back-to-back triples to give the Trailblazers their first 20 points lead at 49-29.
Koons, Deweese and Mitchell were pacing the Trailblazers through the second half with 16,15 and 13 points apiece at the end of the third quarter, up 65-36.
The Trailblazers head to Indiana University East next Tuesday, January 23
rd for a 5:30 p.m. tip-off.
