CIRCLEVILLE, OH – The women's volleyball team got their second consecutive sweep over Alice Lloyd College this evening by scores of (25-11, 25-16, 25-17), improving their record to 7-9 and 2-3 in conference play.
Morgan Blakeman came up big for the Trailblazers with 14 kills on a massive .462 hitting percentage.
Madison Blickenstaff followed with 12 kills while
Brittlyn Call contributed six.
Sophie Coleman led the defense with 18 digs and
Rylee Barr had a double-double with 34 assists and 15 digs.
The Trailblazers looked comfortable to start out the match, cruising to a 25-11 win in the first set emphasized by a big overpass kill by
Alexa Mader. Blickenstaff came up with six kills in the first set.
Ohio Christian's first slump of the game came midway through the second set, but they bounced back quickly and cruised to a comfortable 25-16 win.
The Eagles took an early lead in the third set 9-4 before the Trailblazers settled back in, coming within one to force an Eagles timeout.
Coming out of the timeout,
Lilly Smith served the Trailblazers back to an 11-9 lead. Ohio Christian rounded out the set 25-17 for the sweep.
The Trailblazers continue conference play this Saturday, September 30th when they take on Indiana University Purdue University Columbus at 12 p.m.
