ANN ARBOR, MI - The Ohio Christian men's soccer team opened the 2023 season Saturday evening on the road against Concordia University, falling 7-1. The second half saw much improvement for the Trailblazers, including the lone goal scored by
Junior Acosta coming off the bench, but it wasn't enough to make up the difference.
The Cardinals went up 3-0 in the first half as the Trailblazers were unable to get a shot off. The second half held more action for both sides, and Ohio Christian was able to get four shots off and two on goal.
Mamegor Seck and
Junior Acosta split the offensive action with two shots a piece.Â
Five members of the Trailblazers' starting 11 are newcomers to the team this season, and each saw significant minutes in the opener.Â
The Trailblazers stay on the road for the first few weeks of the season and head to Michigan next week to take on Grace Christian University and Great Lakes Christian College on August 29
th and August 30
th.Â
