by George Arroyo Jr.

CIRCLEVILLE, OH — Ohio Christian University is pleased to announce Abigail Hintz as the new Sports Information Director. Hintz, who recently served as Assistant SID, immediately steps into the role and will oversee the athletic communication for all 19 of the Trailblazers athletic programs.

"I am thrilled to take on this new position as Sports Information Director," Hintz said. "I'm very thankful to George Arroyo Jr. for entrusting me with this role and for all I have learned working with David Holt these past months. God is working in exciting ways at OCU and I'm humbled to be a part of it."

Hintz, a graduate of Cedarville University, earned a degree in Broadcasting and Digital Media Journalism. During her undergrad, she interned with Columbus Crew SC gaining experience by writing articles and conducting interviews at games and practices. Hintz also held positions for the Cedarville student newspaper as Digital Editor, Sports Editor, and Editor-in-chief while also working in the sports information department writing feature stories and managing social media accounts.

"Abby has worked within the athletics department for close to a year and in her short time has had a major impact in the coverage of Trailblazer sports," said Director of Athletics, George Arroyo Jr. "As Assistant SID, Abby was responsible for the oversight of social media content, athletics website management, graphic design, promo videos and writing articles. Her organization and creativity, along with her experience have been vital to the overall success of the strategic plan to increase social and public presence. Her energy and enthusiasm for promoting our student-athletes and sport programs is undeniable. I'm confident Abby will continue building on the foundation of Trailblazer media while keeping our friends, family and fan base up to date on all things Ohio Christian."

"I am excited to take on this role and use what I have learned to continue improving the student-athlete experience from both a media and event management perspective," said Hintz. "The athletes at OCU are great and deserve to have an amazing experience in their time as a Trailblazer. I'm thankful for the opportunity to be a small part of their college experience."

"The SID is a public relations specialist who strives to promote team activities and achievements for recognition in the media" added Arroyo Jr. "This is an important role for the institution. We have incredible student-athletes, coaches, and staff and Abby is charged with highlighting the success of OCU's athletic teams."

Hintz takes over for alumnus David Holt, who served in the role for the past two years. The Athletic Department thanks him for his dedication to the job and wishes him well as he transitions to Admissions at Ohio Christian.
