HUNTINGTON, IN - The women's basketball team rounded out the 2023 half of the schedule with an 88-74 loss to Huntington University. The final score was not reflective of the game as a whole as the Trailblazers were down just three at the beginning of the fourth quarter 57-54. Huntington outlasted Ohio Christian with a 31-20 fourth quarter.
Haley Cox put up her third double-double of the season with 29 points and 11 rebounds along with four steals. Cox shot 11-25 from the field and 7-7 from the line. She remains at 2nd in the NAIA for points per game with 27.5.
Emma Koons was solid all-around for Ohio Christian with 18 points and nine rebounds while
Ashley Deweese came up with 16 points and four rebounds.
JoLeigh Hamilton had a career-high 10 points and four rebounds.Â
The Trailblazers were held under their season average of 81.3 points per game, the 21st highest average in the NAIA.
Ohio Christian struggled from deep, going 2-12 but were solid from the field, shooting 40.9% and 69.2% from the line.Â
The Trailblazers open 2024 with a road conference match-up against Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College at 5:30 p.m.
