Monica Caldwell

Coach Caldwell is a proud alumna of Ohio Christian University and life-long runner whose journey on and off the track has been shaped by faith, community, and an unshakable love for the sport. She is bringing 4 years of teaching and coaching experience from Liberty Christian Academy and Teays Valley Middle School/ High School.
Some of her personal athletic accomplishments include becoming a Mid-State League Champion in the long jump, school record setter in both the 4x200m and 4x400m relays, and a state qualifier. She continued her running career here at OCU where she contributed to the cross-country team’s qualification for the NAIA National Championship meet, set the 600m school record, and was an RSC Indoor Track and Field All Conference (1st Team) honoree in the DMR.

Coach Caldwell currently resides in Ashville, Ohio with her husband Austin and 3-year-old son Henry, who just recently competed in his first mile-long race, and one-year-old son Ezra, who can’t wait to start running himself.

From Coach Caldwell,
“Returning to OCU as Head Track & Cross Country Coach feels like coming full circle. OCU is where my life changed for the better. The track and field program provided me with faith and a community of lifelong friends that encourage me in every stage of life. I’m honored to pour back into the program that shaped me by mentoring young men and women—helping them grow stronger in body, mind, and spirit—and to carry forward a legacy of excellence for our Trailblazers. I can’t wait to see what heights we’ll reach together.”

AD Quote,
“We are blessed to welcome Coach Caldwell to lead our Cross Country and Track & Field programs,” said Ally Coyle Director of Athletics. “Coach Caldwell not only brings a strong background in competitive excellence, but also a deep commitment to mentoring student-athletes in their faith and personal growth. I believe her leadership will strengthen our mission to honor Christ through athletics.”
