Robby Sexton is entering his second season as assistant coach for the Trailblazer baseball program after his first year at the institution in 2019-20.

 

A 2012 Watkins Memorial High School graduate, Sexton played collegiate baseball for Wright State University before being drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the 2016 MLB Draft. While at Wright State, Sexton carried a record of 16-14 with a 2.95 ERA and 153 strikeouts over 211.1 innings. In 2016, Sexton was selected 418th overall by the Boston Red Sox in the 14th round.

 

Starting with the Greenville Drive (Class A) within the Red Sox Organization, Sexton would make 27 appearances (107.1 innings) with an ERA of 3.86 and 102 strikeouts.

 

Sexton then went on to play in the Arizona Diamondbacks Organization for the Visalia Rawhide (Class A Advanced). Making 45 appearances, Sexton threw 55 innings finishing with a 4.87 ERA and 57 strikeouts. He was then released in 2019.
