Circleville, OH - The Ohio Christian University women's soccer team battled Kentucky Christian University on Friday, with the Trailblazers falling 1-0.
Kentucky Christian Struck early, finding the back of the net in the seventh minute to take a 1-0 lead.
Despite the early deficit, Ohio Christian's defense battled throughout the remainder of the match. Goalkeeper
Daisy Dunham turned in a strong performance between posts, making eight saves in the first half to keep the Trailblazers within one goal.
OCU created an opportunity in the 19th minute when
Claudia Ornelas put a shot on goal, but the Knight's goalkeeper made the save.
The Trailblazers continued to compete defensively in the second half, with Dunham adding five more saves to bring her match total to 13.
Ohio Christian finished with three total shots, including one on goal.
Abby Widener recorded two shots, while Ornelas had one on goal. Kentucky Christian finished with 20 shots, placing 14 on goal.
The Trailblazers will return to action tomorrow when they host Bluffton University for a 2:00 PM start.
