Circleville, OH - The men's soccer team built a three-goal first-half advantage and held on to defeat Kentucky Christian, 3-2, on Friday.
The Trailblazers scored quickly into the game, with
Max Spencer finding the back of the net in the sixth minute.
Johan Munoz provided the assist as OCU took an early 1-0 lead.
Eight minutes later, the Trailblazers scored again following another pass from Munoz, setting
Avery Brengelman for his first goal of the afternoon to make it 2-0 in the 15th minute.
OCU continued to pressure KCU and earned a penalty kick in the 29th minute. Carlos Hernandez scored, giving the Trailblazers a 3-0 advantage.
The Knights answered after the penalty kick, making the score 3-1. The Trailblazers carried the two-goal lead into halftime and continued to battle through a scoreless opening portion of the second half.

Kalin Schneider completed many key saves throughout the game, and finished the match with four. KCU eventually found the net again in the 88th minute, making the score 3-2.
Both OCU and KCU finished the game with nine shots. The Trailblazer's earned four corner kicks, compared to three for the Knights.
Munoz finished the afternoon with two assists, while Spencer and Brengelman each recorded a goal. Hernandez added a goal from the penalty spot.
The Blazers move to 2-4-1 on the season and will return to action on September 26 for a home game against Great Lakes Christian College at 2:00 PM.
