"As we considered the future of our women's soccer program, it became clear that the right leader was already serving within it," said Athletic Director Ally Coyle. "Over the last few months, Coach Slone has consistently reflected Christ-centered values of our university, and he has earned the trust and respect of our student-athletes, coaches, and campus community. We are grateful for God's guidance throughout this process and look forward to seeing how Coach Slone will continue to impact the lives ouf our student-athletes."

A lifelong Central Ohio resident, Slone has roots within Ohio Christian. As a student-athlete, he was a member of the 2010 Men's Soccer team that finished NCCAA National Runner-Up. Following his playing career, he continued to invest in the growth of student-athletes throughout coaching and ministry.

Slone earned his bachelor's degree in Sport Sciences from Otterbein University and later completed a master's degree in Ministry from Ohio Christian University. In addition to his coaching responsibilities, he currently serves as an ordained pastor at Captial City Church.

His coaching experience includes serving as the assistant coach for Ohio Christian's men's soccer program from 2017-2020, along with coaching numerous high school and club teams throughout Central Ohio. His passion for developing young athletes both on and off the field has been a hallmark of his coaching philosophy.

"I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to serve as the Head Women's Soccer Coach at Ohio Christian University," said Slone. "I would like to sincerely thank Athletic Director Ally Coyle and President R.D. Saunders for their trust and confidence in me. Their leadership and commitment to the mission of OCU make this a truly special place, and I am honored to be part of it. I look forward to continuing the successful tradition of OCU soccer."

Slone resides in Pickaway County with his wife, Mallory, and their three children, Nehemiah, Crew, and Stella.

Ohio Christian Athletics welcomes Coach Slone into his new role and looks forward to the continued growth and success of the Women's Soccer program under his leadership.
