Circleville, OH - Ohio Christian University is excited to announce Christopher Simpson as the new Head Women's Basketball Coach. 

Coach Simpson is from Harrodsburg, Kentucky, where he graduated from Mercer County Senior High School. Following graduation, he went on to play basketball for Campbellsville University for two years. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and a Master's Degree in Arts in Adult and Higher Education

Coach Simpson brings five years of coaching experience, including four years at the high school level and one year in AAU basketball, mainly coaching females.

Outside of basketball, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Ceri, and his family, facilitating a growth mindset, growing in his spiritual walk, watching sports, staying up-to-date with business, education, and technology trends, being a lifelong learner, watching TV and movies, and baking desserts. He and his wife plan to live in the South Columbus area. 

"I am blessed to have received the opportunity to lead, guide, and coach the OCU Women's Basketball Team," said Coach Simpson. " I am ready to bring energy, excitement, enthusiasm, and motivation to the sideline and the university! I am ready to build an awesome culture where our players can learn and grow academically, athletically, mentally, and spiritually."

Coach Simpson lives by Philippians 3:12-14, which says," "Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me His own. Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus."

He plans on guiding his new team with this verse at the forefront.
