Circleville, OH - The Women's softball team played Allice Lloyd College where they lost both games in a double header. The scores were 3-5 and 2-5.
During game 1, the Trailblazers took a 1-0 lead against the Eagles. However, the Eagles came back and tied the game in the 7th inning. The game went into extra innings and the Trailblazers were unable to produce runs in the eighth.
Mariela Garcia went 2-4 at the plate with 1 RBI and 1 run scored.
Vanessa Metcalf also went 2-4 with 1 RBI and 1 run scored.
Emma Hastings pitched a complete game where she struck out 8 batters but gave up 3 earned runs.
The Trailblazers took an early 1-0 lead again in the second game after Hastings scored on a single hit by
Vanessa Metcalf. But, the team was unable to score enough runs to beat the Eagles.
Offensively,
Emma Hastings went 2-4 with 1 double, 1 RBI and 1 run scored.
Vanessa Metcalf also finished the game with an RBI.
As the season comes to an end, we want to congratulate our two seniors,
Emma Hastings and
Lexi King. Hastings broke the school record during her career for most stolen bases (102) and King broke the record for most career home runs (18). Additionally, congratulations to Coach Tony Huff on his first season as a coach with Ohio Christian.
