Women's Soccer Edges NAIA Opponent

Box Score COLUMBUS, IN -- Women's Soccer continued their hot streak with another clean sheet and victory on the road.

After a taxing week of games, women's soccer traveled to Indiana to take on Indiana University Columbus in a rematch from last season. Last year, the Crimson Pride came to Circleville and beat the Trailblazers with a dominating performance. This year, it would be the Trailblazers turn to win in a tightly contested match. The game's theme was defense in which both teams displayed strong resilience. The game was even at 0-0 heading into the first half and the game look destined to end in stalemate. With less than 5 minutes on the clock, Syerra Metzler took a shot from outside the box which hit the keeper's hands before trickling into the net. Elizabeth Grooms earned the assist. Once again, the Trailblazers locked in for the final 5 minutes to keep the clean sheet.

"It's great to get another win on the road," said Coach Beth Arroyo. Once again, the team locked in and kept the Crimson Pride to minimal opportunities. We had several chances to score in the game but credit to their defense and keeper. Most impressive is another defensive display and clean sheet on the road."

The Trailblazers hit the road again in Kentucky for a rematch against Alice Lloyd College later this week.
