CIRCLEVILLE, OH -- Men's Soccer scored first against Mount St. Joseph but were ultimately overcome by two quick goals by the Lions.
In a scoreless first half, it would be the Trailblazers who got on the board first when a deflected ball from
Mason Sims found the path of
Kamden Smith who calmly beat the keeper and placed the ball into an empty net. The Lions struck four minutes later when a foul in the box resulted in a penalty kick. Despite the best efforts from
David Spicer Jr. who got a hand on the ball, the Lions found the net. In the 70th minute, the Lions crossed the ball into the box where it was met with a header for the second goal.
"I thought we played a great 90 minutes, we just didn't have the goals fall our way," said Coach
Ryan Walker. "We played the game the way we wanted by keeping possession better than we had all season. We continue to grow in confidence and our best soccer is ahead of us."
The Trailblazers are back on the road to Michigan for a showdown against Great Lakes Christian.
