CIRCLEVILLE, OH -- After a week of rest, the Trailblazers were back in action to take on Berea College.
Coming off a loss to Berea last season, the Trailblazers were up for the challenge. Elizabeth Grooms and Karissa Buttelwerth put the Trailblazers on the scoreboard with back to back goals in the first half. Grooms was sandwiched between defenders and goalkeeper and still managed to direct the ball into the net. Seconds later, Buttelwerth went through on goal and placed it calmly past the goalkeeper. The Trailblazers had chances in the second half and Briston Terry got the insurance goal in the 73rd minute. Freshman Terry volleyed the ball off a corner kick and gave Ohio Christian a drivers seat the rest of the game. Isabelle Ruff kept another cleansheet while Grooms finished the game with a goal and two assists.
"A good performance from the team," said Coach Beth Arroyo. "It was good to see three different names on the score sheet. We have a big week ahead at home and want to capitalize on the momentum."
Next up for the Trailblazers are the Eagles from Alice Lloyd College at home, in Game 1 of 2 this season.
