DEFIANCE, OH - The Volleyball team opened up their 2024 season with 2 wins and 2 losses at the UNOH tournament in Defiance, Ohio.
The Trailblazers opened up play against Indiana University Northwest with their first win after 4 sets, (25-15, 21-25, 25-15, 25-23).
Emilia Hoppe led the team with 14 kills,
Sophie Coleman led with 15 digs,
Madison Blickenstaff led with 3.0 blocks while
Emma Hannah added 17 assists.
Ohio Christian finished up Friday with a dominant performance over Brescia University winning in 3 sets, (25-22, 25-20, 25-23). Blickenstaff led the team with 18 kills, while Coleman added 11 digs.
The Lady Trailblazers started off Saturday with a loss to Governors State University loosing in 3 sets, (20-25, 16-25, 20-25).
Emilia Hoppe led the team with 9 kills,
Lilly Smith led with 9 digs while
Emma Hannah added 14 assists.
The Trailblazers ended the UNOH tournament play with a loss to Goshen college Saturday afternoon after a close battle going into all five sets, (25-23, 22-25, 25-20, 19-25, 6-15).
Josie Buck led the way with 18 digs,
Haley Sembach had 6 blocks while
Emma Hannah had 17 assists with Blickenstaff leading the way for kills with 8.
The Trailblazers travel to Louisville, Kentucky next Saturday, August 24th for the SECC tournament. First game against Alice Lloyd starting at 1pm.
