PITTSBURGH, PA - The softball team completed their four-game stretch battling the Point Park Pioneers with a huge comeback win to go 3-1 on the week as the regular season comes to a close. The Trailblazers finish the season with a 17-25 overall record and a 15-17 conference record, good for a playoff berth as they sit at third in the RSC East.
The Trailblazers struggled in game one against the Pioneers, falling 10-0 in five innings as the Pioneers' pitcher threw a no-hitter.
Things were going similarly in game two, until the sixth inning when the bats started swinging. The Trailblazers came into the inning down 4-0 when
Chandler Hayes opened the scoring on a double to bat in
Roxi Herdman.
It was a team effort with five different athletes coming up with RBIs to complete the comeback. Herdman,
Hilarie Spitler and
Kylee Bako came up with two hits each.Â
Emma Hastings pitched the win, allowing seven hits in 31 at bats.
