OAKLAND CITY, IN - The baseball team opened conference play at Oakland City University this weekend where they went 1-2 against the Mighty Oaks by scores of 0-10, 0-15 and 6-5. The Trailblazers are now 3-13 overall.
The Trailblazers struggled late in the first two games, allowing a combined 20 runs in the final three innings.
John Santopadre pitched the win for the Trailblazers, allowing four earned runs and pitching six strikeouts in six innings. Santopadre is 2-0 this season.
Benjamin Sterritt went 2-4 at the plate in the winning game with a double, one run and the winning RBI.
Ross Donaldson had a one-run homer in the seventh inning to put the Trailblazers within one run.
Spencer Crane had a double and an RBI.
The Trailbazers have their home opener this Tuesday, March 5th when they host nonconference opponent University of Cincinnati-Clermont at 2 p.m.
