PITTSBURGH, PA - The men's basketball team nearly pulled off an upset over No. 17 Point Park University on Tuesday evening, but fell 84-81. The Trailblazers are 13-14 overall and 8-8 in the conference where they sit at sixth place overall.
The Trailblazers went up by as much as ten points early, and faced five lead changes in a battle with the conference leaders. The Trailblazers shot 41.6 percent from the field and 34.3 percent from deep. The Pioneers out-rebounded Ohio Christian 58-37.
Levi Seiler was just one point shy of his season-high with 35 points on 13-24 shooting, seven rebounds, two blocks and two steals.
Titus Burns came up with 21 points while
Cale Rammel had a double-double of 12 points and a career-high 13 rebounds.
The Trailblazers will likely get a bye in the first round of the River States Conference Championships next week and open tournament play on Wednesday, February 28th.
Ohio Christian rounds out the regular season on Saturday, February 24th when they host Alice Lloyd College at 3 p.m. for Senior Day. The Trailblazers will honor their five seniors at the conclusion of the women's game.
