Box Score PIPPAS PASSES, KY -- Women's Soccer scored nine goals on the road and kept another clean sheet.
In a Home/Away series, the Trailblazers traveled to Kentucky to take on a more defensive Alice Lloyd. The Trailblazers had to work for the first goal but found the back of the net when
Elizabeth Grooms beat the keeper to the ball before scoring. The Trailblazers were in control the rest of the game with three goals from
Elizabeth Grooms, two goals from
Karissa Buttelwerth, and single goals from
Briston Terry,
Kyla Harvey, and
Isabel Ruff. Newcomer
Kayla Allen scored her first collegiate goal.
"Alice Lloyd made us work in the first half," said Coach
Beth Arroyo. "When playing against a low-block, the team needs patience and energy to keep the ball moving quickly. The second half saw much more control and energy. There were some great goals and good team possession throughout. The team has a much needed break before returning to play in a week. We will continue working on what's allowed us to be successful- gritty defensive displays and persistence for the full ninety minutes."
